Please read the information below, then complete the form at the bottom of this page. This only takes a few minutes and must be completed before your child's first class.
Our Safety Practices
At Chalkpoints, keeping kids safe during online classes and drafts is a top priority. Here's exactly what we have in place for every Zoom session:
Access Control
Every class uses a unique meeting link, sent only to enrolled families — never posted publicly.
A passcode is required to join.
All participants enter through a Waiting Room and are individually admitted by the instructor — no one gets in unverified.
Once the roster is confirmed, the meeting is locked so no one else can join, even with the link.
Your child does not need their own Zoom account. They join using the link we send you (the parent/guardian), entering only their first name (and last initial if desired) — no login or email required on their end. We ask that a parent or guardian help them get connected and into the Waiting Room for their first class (and as needed going forward).
Student and Parent Expectations
We ask that participants turn their camera/video on at the beginning of the class/draft so that an instructor can verify identity of the student. This is REQUIRED. They are welcome to turn their camera off after verification is complete, but encouraged to leave it on (if they feel comfortable) to help establish community amongst their peers.
Children displayed names should match their enrollment name (first name).
Students should not share personal information during class, including their full name, home address, school, phone number, email address, or social media accounts.
Students are expected to be kind, respectful, and appropriate toward their instructor and classmates throughout the class.
Parents are welcome to stay nearby during a student’s draft event/first class and may remain within hearing distance during future classes. However, we ask that parents allow students to participate independently and avoid sitting in or participating in the class unless their assistance is needed.
In-Session Controls
Private chat between participants is disabled. All chat is visible to the instructor.
Only the instructor can share their screen. Participant screen sharing will only be enabled for specific circumstances, on a case-by-case basis.
The instructor controls muting and video settings throughout the session.
Accountability
For the safety of our students and the quality of our programming, Chalkpoints may record live online classes/draft events. Recordings are kept private, are only accessible to authorized Chalkpoints personnel and enrolled families when appropriate, and are not shared publicly or used for promotional purposes without separate parental permission. Recordings will be deleted after 45 days.
All Chalkpoints staff completes an annual background check, renewed each year as a condition of running Chalkpoints classes.
Chalkpoints' Zoom account is registered under Zoom's Children's Education Status, which places it under Zoom's Children's Educational Privacy Statement governing how student data is handled.

Marketing Use (Optional)
From time to time, Chalkpoints likes to take screenshots or clips from class/draft sessions to use in marketing materials — our website, social media, newsletters, and promotional content. This is completely optional and has no effect on your child's enrollment either way. You can change your answer at any time by contacting us directly.
